Music is a way to express one's self without actually having to take part in a confrontation. Music can let the shy become powerful, the thick-skinned show a softer side. Music is a magical thing. Music is poetic, music is art, music is beautiful, music has my full adoration.
There's so many different styles is blows my mind. All of them hold beauty in their own way, to different people. I myself are drawn to all different types of this audible art form. Mostly though, the old time gangster rap.
Were i lived you could always here this music pumping out of someones house or the car coasting down the street. This music has the realest feel for me. Its as if you don't listen to this type of music but feel it, because the artist, they aren't speaking to you, its more intimate then that, its like they're sharing a part of them selves with you. It truly is poetry. If you allow yourself to actually listen one day, you'll feel it touch your soul.
With every genre of music there are exceptions within it. So not all of it will touch you all the same, some of it is vulgar, some of it is degrading. But these all show and explain some of the hardships people have to face in the "ghetto." Next time don't listen for the obscenities, the curse words, but really listen to what their saying, and ask yourself how you would express your self living in the environments they have.
