Eddie Gram

Yesterday we watched a movie on a young boy who had Prader Willi Syndrome. This is a disease that causes you to have an insatiable apatite. His name was Max, and he lived at home with his dad, who was his main chartaker in his life. Max would also have severe temper tantrums, because PWS also affects your behavior. After the video Mr. Mann shared with us that a young man with PWS had been a student at Franklin Heights a few years back. He said that kids were very cruel to him, throwing food on the floor so he would dive on the ground for it.
I had never heard of PWS before but i am familiar with Autism. A 25 year old named Eddie Gram go's to my church. Eddie is one of the most genuinly kind people i know. Yes he is 25 but he has the mentality of a 7 year old. His faith has got to be the strongest i have ever seen, so much love radiates from him. he is being raised by his mother, his grandmother, and his aunt. His aunt alson has a lesser form of Autism. Eddies dad left when he was little.
People who make fun or harm those who have a learning disabilaty disgust me. People like Eddie and Max have so much love to give. I think we could learn alot from them. They have no predjudices, no hatefull thoughts. I just wish the next time your at the grocery, and have a mentaly handycapped person helping check out, and put your food in bags, into your cart, dont get impacient. Remember Eddie, Maxj, and for a second feel how it is to be them.
